DIRECTIONS
By car, from the M6 turn off at junction 36 (signed to the Southern Lakes and Kendal). Follow the signs towards Barrow along the A590 through Newby Bridge to Greenodd. Here, turn right along the A5092 to Lowick and then turn right again towards Coniston along the A5084. You will go through the villages of Lowick Bridge, Blawith and Water Yeat before coming to Lake Bank which is signed on the left hand side of the road as you leave Water Yeat. When you go up the drive, Lingmell is in front of you.

By train, Ulverston is the nearest station (9 miles distant or 15 minutes drive) from where you can get a bus, a taxi, or hire a car. However, Oxenholme station near Kendal is on a main line and will save changing at Lancaster or Preston and total travelling time will be quicker. Kendal is about 45 minutes drive away.
